A LITTLE ABOUT Mr. T!

My name is Christopher Timberlake and I am very excited to welcome you to my classroom! I am originally from the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. This is my 21st year in education, my seventh year in FCPS, and my third year at Orange Hunt Elementary. I have teaching experience in K-5 in New York City, Washington, DC, Virginia, Florida, and even Malawi, Africa! I have a wealth of experience and I am enthusiastic to share what I know with my class throughout the year. I’m so excited to get to know all my talented students. We are going to have a great year!

MY FAMILY

I am a proud Virginian, born and raised in Newport News. I have lived in Fairfax for the past 7 years. We have one son who is 11 years old and also attends Orange Hunt and we have 2 dogs named Gryffin and Raven. My parents and sister still live in Newport News and we go to see them whenever we have a free weekend. We love to visit and spend time with them. My family is very important to me.

MY EDUCATION

I graduated from the International Baccalaureate program in high school and was able to complete my Bachelors degree in three years! I received my BA in Theatre Design with a minor in French from Radford University. I went on to pursue my passion of teaching and received my MS in Elementary Education, also from RU. I then attended Virginia Tech and received my Ed.S. for Curriculum Design and Instruction. I have continued to learn by taking extended courses at NOVA.

FUN FACT!

I have studied abroad A LOT! When I was in high school, I was an exchange student… twice! My first exchange was to Norway. I lived in a small coastal town called Telavåg outside of Bergen. My second exchange was to Germany. I lived in a small town called Altenkerchen outside of Bonn. In college, I studied abroad in France, taking a 4-week bicycle tour through the Pyrenees Mountains.
